I will not call it a recent visit, but the visit was an
adventure in all. What started as a
simple gesture, came alive as we actually hit the roads. It was a hot
afternoon in the training room. We were glad to be sitting inside an air
conditioned room, but the heat outside was becoming unbearable. A friend
describe the visit to
Shimla
in as a gateway holiday for just three days. There were four of us, and
everyone appreciated the idea. So after trainings on Friday evening we
grabbed our travel bags and made way from
Delhi to Shimla.
We were traveling in a car so the idea of sitting constrainedly inside a
bus was out of the question. I was enjoying myself as the city lights
started to give way to tall green trees. I was lost in my own world. I
was least bothered about the conversations going on inside the car. I
could only feel the magic of the nature slowly unfolding itself. The
fact that the highways slowly turning into a small narrow road is
majestic. It really test your skills as a driver too. What I liked best
about the visit was the quiet getaway from the hot city life. Its such a
recreation for the eyes as well. It gives a lot of mental recreation.
And for once you are not thinking of world.
It was not Shimla that we actually went to. But a little 2 kms from
Shimla there is a place called Tegu. It has this wonderful hotel
resorts. Besides there is a place there where you can go horse riding
into the woods. That is if you are one of hose adventurous kind. More
over, if you like speed and sports one can visit the carting zone as
well. You must feel honored to be there, because you are at the highest
carting spot in the world. For the more adventurous there is
Trekking on the
hills of
Himalayas and
Camping in the
nearby woods. In the evenings you can go down to the gold ground. The
cool breeze and the quiet sound of the appraising nightfall beckons you
to linger on there a little longer. But do watch you backs as well cause
the night animals prowl around too. But they are all busy settling for
the night. The visit thought lasted short was quiet a break indeed. It
releases your body and mind and helps prepare you for the challenges to
come ahead. And back in the city life.
