My wildlife trip to IndiaCharls Russal (Australia) Visited: 19.12.2003 ![]() From ages India is a traditional land adorned with rich glory of the vedas, yoga and meditation, that has enthralled many a traveler from across the world. But what strike my fantasy during the week stay in this engaging land is the varied pack of wilds that I discovered in the dense jungles of India. Being a genuine lover of nature, there was a permanent burning desire that was creeping in my heart to pay a visit to India and to undergo the satisfaction of getting customary with the diverse wildlife categories here. So, at the very first befalling I boarded a plane to India and landed at Indra Gandhi International Airport. Before, I had gone through number of magazines and slew of web-sites that offered me with lasted information on great Indian wildlife. Nothing could have been more better place to see the Indian flora other than the National Parks and the Wildlife Sanctuaries that are scattered all over India. As it was just absurdity impossible for me to visit all the parks and sanctuaries and so finally I decided to be radically choosy. Jim Corbett, Gir, Ranthambore, Periyar and Kaziranga were all that I visited. Indian Wild life is full of wild treasures of Royal Bengal Tigers, Great Indian one horned Rhino, Asiatic Lion and Great Indian Elephant. I was totally left awe struck at the very first glimpse these charming mammals. It is really a depressing truth that some of these great species are facing the danger of extinction from the face of mother earth. However, it was encouraging to perceive that the Indian Government has taken ample maneuver for their preservation and reformation. Beside these royal creatures I could enjoy the sight of innumerous number of other species like the leopard cat and the fishing cat, the Himalayan black bear, wild boars, various species of deer, sambhars, chitals, foxes and vixens, crocodiles. The Indian forests were also the home of noxious serpents like the king cobra, pantheon. I also captured the vision of numerous bird species including peacocks, falcons, parrots and high flyers such as eagles and hawks in to my handi cam. As I visited several park and sanctuaries during my halt in India, I could executed that how the wild life is firmly endorsed with India's social customs. The Royal Bengal Tiger is directly associated to Goddess Durga as animal is the holy ride of the goddess, similarly peacock, monkeys and the elephant have found a space of eminence in the Indian mythology. I was bewildered to perceive that this poisonous snake King Cobra is so intimately linked with Lord Siva and has perceived so much worship down the ages. To my bewilderment I discovered much more than I had anticipated. My wildlife tour to India has been a tour full of thrill and instance of rhapsody, a cherished memory that will be conserved for successors. I can say Wildlife in India is a spectacular treat for every eye.
