Kedarnath - One of the Pious PlacesDeepak Rodey (Mumbai) Visited: 21.12.2006 My most recent visit was to the pilgrimage temple of Kedarnath. Located in the lower Himalayas and approximately at an altitude of 3900m from the sea level, the temple has a beautiful aura of tranquility surrounding it. Uttarkashi which is also called the land of God and Kedarnath one of the most most pious places in the famous Char Dham Yatra - the must to take divine joureny for every Hindu in his or her lifetime, is a spiritual experience in itself. A good long trek of 14 kms led us (Me and my family) to this holy shrine. The climate here is the most dynamic where it rains immediately and in the next 15 minutes you find glowing sunlight. It is a place for subjects devout, where men and women from every sphere come in search of solace. Apart from the spiritual factors, the place itself is intoxicating, with a deep sense of calmness about itself. Surrounding mountains, an extensive green cover, and a pious atmosphere, this place honestly deserves more frequent heists. I believe a traveler should visit this destination because it is a little different from other travel experience. People travel to relieve stress, and this destination gives much more than that. Kedarnath is a beautiful, pious, spiritual and peaceful destination. A peace which marked thrives for is available in abundance half.
