'Incredible India' as the tourism department presents, India is truly
Incredible. With a country having so many diverse traditions, cultures
.... Its very natural to have a very diverse and magnificent tourist
destinations also where every 200 Km unfolds unified landscape
variations. October, 2007 along with it brought me an opportunity to
unwind myself and experience a quintessentially different world. As a
part of our Education tour, we were taken to
Rishikesh
The land of Divinity and
Spirituality.
At a distance of around 150 kms from
Uttarakashi, in the
valleys of Uttarakhand, lies this holy city that is known for Yoga,
religion and a abode of saints. Due to its nearness with
Himalayas, it was lot cooler than the
National Capital, I live in. A lot cleaner and Ganges was a sight worth
seeing, as it gushed through the rocks flowing between giant plains.
Standing at the centre of Luxman jhula provides diverse eye catching
scenery, from one side the holy chants pouring nectar to your ears and
the emphatic local scenery pouring nectar in the eyes.
The evening lights up with numerous aarti diyas, and holy sounds of
aartis, bhajans setting the replica of Heaven on earth. The goodness of
Dharm just flows when you are a part of pujas. Chotiwala, a noted eat
out attraction, is apart from so many reasons a reason to visit
Rishikesh. The quality of food is best and do give your taste buds a
chance to savor when you visit this place. For adventure lovers,
Trekking and
Rafting are
great options. If you are comfortable in taking small risks, then do
give your heart some fast beats, some excitement to your nerves, some
cold water splashes to your body but do experience river rafting. All in
all a great experience....
Go ahead!!
