Last Sunday I had to go to Varanasi from
Delhi for some
piece of work. After I got through my work, it was almost half day left
for me to have a look at the place. I asked few people about the places
which Uttar Pradesh is famous for and to my utter surprise most of the
people have the common viewpoint. The place, that I was been told about
is
Haridwar and
Varanasi. Due to
limitation of time I thought of going to Varanasi. It was when I reached
there I came to know about the beauty and serenity of the place.
Seriously Varanasi has such beautiful temples and perhaps one of the
biggest temples in Uttar Pradesh and it spreads on a large area and were
built by the ancient rulers.
A temple is a
pilgrimage destination
and has many divisions, which means that it is not meant for a single
God or Goddess. After seeing the panoramic ghats of Varanasi I was
inclined towards spending the rest of my life there. Then I understood
why people want to die on this holy land. The
spiritual ambiance was so exhilarating
that I felt nostalgic and spent an entire evening just looking at
priests preforming rituals. Next morning I decided to take up a leisure
activity of boating in one of the ghats, as I has read in one of the
sites on internet. Carrying a city guide in my hands I looked around for
heritage while enjoying a ride. I spent the entire day shopping for
religious stuff and next morning headed for home.
While in Varanasi, I was also advised to take the
golden tour to
Agra along with
Jaipur that lies
very close to Uttar Pradesh. I was pretty occupied by the beauty, peace
and veracity and I hope to visit this state again, sooner or later.
