Introduction:
Jim Corbett National ParkThe land of trumpet, roar and song, Corbett National Park is a pioneer in itself. Established in 1936, Corbett is the oldest national park of Asia. Corbett national park is also famed as India's first Tiger Reserve. In the year 1973, India government's ambitious “Tiger conservation project” was started from here only. It is a serious park where all rules and regulations are strictly follows to preserve the natural heritage of the region.

From time immemorial it has captured the imagination of many wildlife enthusiasts, painters and photographers with its wide range of flora and fauna. Blessed with breathtaking landscapes, Corbett is located at the bio-geographic confluence of Himalayas and Terai. Due to its location in two distinct hill areas-Garwhal and Kumaon, Corbett represents a synthesis of two unique cultures.

In the year 1956, Corbett has attained its present name in honour of the famous hunter turned conservationist, Jim Corbett. Thanks to the conservation activities initiated by him and the residents of the region, Corbett provides shelter to large number of Bengal Tigers, Asiatic Elephants, Wild Elephants, Leopards, Hyenas, Jackals, Hog Deers, Barking Deers, Sambhars, Chitals, Indian Pangolins, Bears, Langur and rhesus monkeys. Along with 600 species of avi-fauna, 33 species of reptiles, 7 species of amphibians and fishes, and 33 species of dragon flies.

Garija Devi: It is just 10 km away from Ramnagar. Garija Devi is a perfect place for spending scorching summer season.

Kaladungi: It is the former residence of the famous hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett. It is located on the main road to Nainital from Dhikala.

Rampur: Positioned just 125 km from Corbett National Park, Rampur was formerly a princely state. Later on, after independence Rampur became a part of Uttar Pradesh.It is famous for its library which contains more than 12, 000 rare manuscripts and extraordinary collection of Mughal miniature paintings.

Best Time To Visit:
The most ideal time to witness the pristine beauty of Corbett National Park is from late November to early May. The park remain close from mid June to mid November.

How to reach there:
By Road: Ramnagar town, 51 km(31.69 miles) away is the headquarter of Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is well connected to Delhi, Moradabad, Bareily and Nainital. State run buses operates regularly from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldwani to Ramnagar.

By Rail: From New Delhi Railway Station a direct train runs to Ramnagar. Alternatively, one can come upto Haldwani/Kashipur/Kathgodam and come to Ramnagar by road.

By Air: Pantnagar is the nearest airport to Corbett National Park which is at a distance of 110 km (68.35 miles) from the park.
