Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi is going to host the opening and closing ceremony of Common Wealth Games 2010.

Date For CWG 2010:
The scheduled date for Common Wealth Games, 2010 are from 3rd October to 14th October. In November 2003 at the CGF General Assembly held in Montego Bay, India has won the opportunity to host this event by defeating Canada by 46 votes to 22.

On 6th January 2008 at an event held at the India Gate, the logo of CWG 2010 was revealed to the nation. To symbolize the rise of India as a global power and to showcase its evolution from a traditional country to a modern nation, some spirals are drawn on the logo in the upward direction. Colors present in logo symbolizes the diverse and vibrant culture of India and its people. Apart from this each part of the logo symbolizes India's heartiest welcome to the 71 countries belonging Commonwealth groups.

The slogan for the 2010's Common Wealth Games is “ Come Out and play”.

Games Village For CWG 2010:
Delhi Development Authority(DDA) has constructed a new and modern Games village to provide housing facility to the 8,500 participating athletes and officials of these afore mentioned nations. It is built near the famous Akshardham temple along the east bank of the Yamuna river and stretches over an area of 63.5 hectare. Delhi Government has spent a huge amount of USD 230.7 million for the construction of the Games Village.

Impact On Indian Tourism Industry:
It is assumed that Common Wealth Games, 2010 will play a key role in boom of Indian tourism industry. Common Wealth Games, 2010 is likely to great impact over tourism sector and will be a major factor in bringing International tourists. It is believed that around two million foreign tourists and 3.5 million national tourists from different corners of India would gather in Delhi to watch the Common Wealth Games 2010.
